West St. Paul’s Pride in the Park returns to Southview Park on August 7 for food, family friendly activities, a silent auction, and more.
For the first time in more than a year the West St. Paul City Council chambers returned to normal with Council members and staff at the table and room for a full audience. It was also a return to business as usual with the agenda comprised of mostly routine items.
The advocacy group Women of West St. Paul (WoW) is collecting tampons and donations for their fourth annual pad drive, dubbed the Drive-By Tampon Drive.
This week’s West St. Paul City Council meeting included the long-awaited conclusion to the mural debate, a pro-union resolution that will likely draw a veto, a heated moment during citizen comments, and goodbyes to two well-respected city staff members.
While the regular West St. Paul City Council meeting was cut short due to an emergency declaration and curfew, the work session included heated debate on the Black Lives Matter mural.
Whenever a new development is announced in West St. Paul, there’s consternation that it’s not what people wanted. But the reality is we don’t have a lot of control.
