Art Park Pad Drive

Thanks to Blue Sky Bookkeeping for their support.

About 50 people gathered at the Art Park Pad Drive in West St. Paul to donate period products, make art, and give input.

  • Donate: Period products and donations were accepted for the Women of West St. Paul’s fifth annual pad drive. The local group is trying to collect $10,000 in products and donations in 10 weeks—and is reportedly very close. Visit their site for more on how to donate.
  • Make art: Participants painted more than 50 rocks to contribute to Rocko the painted rock snake, a community-driven project that sprung up at Wentworth Library and was recently featured on Fox 9.
  • Give input: The City of West St. Paul wants to officially name the parks colloquially referred to as the pool park and the art park. This event was the last chance to gather community input before the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee makes their final recommendation to City Council, which makes the final decision. So far Poolside Park and Art Park are the leading contenders.

Surprise: The giant squirrel created by local artist Carolyn Swiszcz that appeared in this year’s Explore West St. Paul Day’s parade made a modified appearance at the pad drive event.
