Minnesota Locks Relocating

Local West St. Paul locksmith Minnesota Locks is relocating to Inver Grove Heights.

Where: The long-time West St. Paul business currently located on Robert Street near Moreland Avenue will move to just south of 494. Their new address will be 5456 South Robert Street Trail.

When: The move happens August 15. The West St. Paul location will close Friday, August 11 and Monday, August 14, with the new location in Inver Grove Heights opening on Tuesday, August 15.

Why: Water and smoke from a recent fire in the attached building damaged their basement. Repairs are not happening, so they decided to relocate. They hoped to stay in West St. Paul, since they opened their first shop here in 1988 at Robert and Wentworth, but they couldn’t find a space that worked for them.

  • Founded in 1982, Minnesota Locks celebrated their 40th anniversary last year.

Did You Know?

Minnesota Locks owner Donna Campbell used to be a drag racer. Throughout the 1990s she raced a 1969 Pontiac GTO at the quarter-mile track at Brainerd International Raceway and Rock Falls in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

“I turned in some pretty good times and won a few races,” Campbell said. Her son Jacob now owns the GTO and still races occasionally at Rock Falls.
