Community Q&A With Nate Burkett & Peter Olson-Skog

Join us for a community Q&A with West St. Paul City Manager Nate Burkett and ISD 197 Superintendent Peter Olson-Skog. You can learn what’s happening in your neighborhood and schools, ask questions, and more.

When: Tuesday, November 14 at 6 p.m.

Where: Amore Coffee (879 Smith Ave., West St. Paul)

The event: As part of our continuing mission to keep the community informed, we’re hosting a community Q&A. We’ll have the two executives in charges of the city and school district to answer questions about what’s happening and where our community is headed. It’s part of our 2023 member drive.

  • City manager: Nate Burkett came to West St. Paul in 2021 after the previous city manager retired. Before coming to West St. Paul, Burkett served as the assistant city administrator in Shakopee and the county administrator in Aitkin and Todd Counties. Burkett grew up in the family business, served in the National Guard, and enjoys running.
  • Superintendent: Peter Olson-Skog came to ISD 197 in 2017 after the previous superintendent retired. Previously, Olson-Skog served as the assistant superintendent at Roseville Area Schools. He enjoys biking, hiking, and spending time on the lake.
  • Snacks: We’ll have cookies and cider on hand while it lasts, plus Amore is staying open late so you can get your favorite drink (big thanks to Amore for hosting us).
  • All are welcome: Part of our upcoming member drive, the Community Q&A is open to the public.
