Town Square TV Wins 7 National Awards

Local community cable station Town Square Television won multiple awards at a recent national conference. They faced tough competition from 950 other entries, winning seven awards, including two first place honors.

“Our team is honored to be recognized in a highly competitive national contest that is judged by our peers across the country,” said Town Square Television Executive Director Jodie Miller. “It is especially gratifying to see our Insight 7 news magazine stories competing with entries from cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Arlington, Texas.”

The West St. Paul Police Department teams up Dunkin’ to raise money for the Special Olympics as part of the Cop on the Roof event.

More: Other winning stories focused on Lilydale history, an ice maze at Vikings Lake, Art Battle Minnesota in Inver Grove Heights, and a 1,000-pound pumpkin.

What: The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) honored the winners of the 38th Annual Government Programming Awards (GPA) at its annual conference in Long Beach, California, on October 5. The awards program honors excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies.

Focus: Town Square focuses on community stories, government meetings, sports, and more in the cities of Inver Grove Heights, Lilydale, Mendota, Mendota Heights, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake, and West St. Paul.

Story ideas: “Residents are reminded to send us your story ideas at Insight7@townsquare.tv,” said Miller. “We’re always looking for stories that need to be told about people, places and events in our area.”
