Robert Street Improvements: Give Your Feedback

Thanks to Dakota County and Minnesota Locks for their support.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) wants feedback on how to improve Robert Street. There’s an online comment map and a public meeting on June 4.

What: MnDOT is looking for potential safety and connectivity improvements on Robert Street, not just for drivers but also pedestrians, bikers, and public transit users.

Why: With the G Line bus rapid transit (BRT) coming to Robert Street in 2028, the state is taking that opportunity to make related improvements.

  • Don’t expect massive change—the medians aren’t going anywhere. Robert Street reconstruction happened in 2015-2016. This is more about identifying problems and finding fixes that can be implemented at the same time as the BRT construction.

Where: Robert Street in West St. Paul (Annapolis Street to Mendota Road). There is a separate project looking at Robert Street north of Annapolis in St. Paul.

When: You can give feedback at a public meeting at Wentworth Library on Tuesday, June 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. (with a brief presentation at 6:15) or at the MnDOT booth as a part of West Fest at Harmon Park on Saturday, June 8 from noon to 3 p.m. The deadline for online comments is June 9.

More: Get more details on the project website.
