The Wendy’s fast food franchise is returning to West St. Paul with a new location planned in the Cub Foods outlot.
Where: The planned location is along Robert Street in one of two outlots in front of Cub Foods. It will be directly north of Starbucks and south of the driveway from Robert Street.
When: No timeline yet, though with approvals happening this summer, it’s likely construction will go into next year with a potential opening in 2025 or even 2026.
Process: The project will first go before the Environmental Committee on June 5, and then it’s likely on to the Planning Commission later in June and City Council in July.

Overall, good news. Hopefully, a focus on customer service and a better drive-thru configuration than that Starbucks. Now that the city is going to get this Wendy’s, all those clamoring for it from behind their social media accounts on their phones and computer screens will get out and support it once it opens!
