June 10, 2024 West St. Paul City Council meeting

West St. Paul City Council Recap: June 10, 2024

Thanks to Inver Grove Ford for their support.

After a busy weekend of Explore West St. Paul Days, the City Council had a short meeting and no work session. Business included Robert Street sidewalk snow removal and two proclamations.

Robert Street Sidewalk Snow Clearing

The City Council unanimously approved the $38,000 assessment for Robert Street sidewalk snow removal. For properties south of Butler, the city organizes snow clearing and then bills the property owners. No one from the public spoke during the public hearing, though a resident did speak earlier in the meeting complaining about the sidewalk clearing and how impassable it is in the winter, especially for people in wheelchairs.

Other Items on the Agenda

  • Pride: For the fifth time, the city declared June to be LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
  • DARTS: The city recognized the 50th anniversary of DARTS, an organization serving older adults that has been headquartered in West St. Paul since 1992. The proclamation declared June 10, 2024 as DARTS Appreciation Day.
  • Explore West St. Paul: Residents and City Council members had high praise for the weekend’s Explore West St. Paul Days events.
