The ISD 197 School Board met in a special meeting to approve union contracts and a new Heritage principal.
Union Contracts
The board unanimously approved three union contracts with transportation, child nutrition, and machinist workers, as well as new contracts for three non-affiliated groups of employees. Now all contracts have been approved.
- The contracts generally included a 3% raise each year (4% for child nutrition), $1,000 lump payment for most groups, and various other changes for holidays or benefits.
Heritage Principal
With the resignation of Heritage Principal Karen Allen after a leave of absence at the end of the school year, the district hired Heidi Koury as the new principal. The board unanimously approved the hire.
Superintendent Evaluation
The board also shared an evaluation of Superintendent Peter Olson-Skog. They generally gave him high marks in all areas. Legal technicality required that the update be shared at this meeting, but it will be presented again at the next televised meeting.
