State Representative Speaks on Immigrants
Rep. Pérez-Vega, who represents the northern half of West St. Paul and parts of St. Paul, spoke from the stage:
“When they’re taking away the jobs of our veterans, the rights of our veterans, I’m here to speak up for my father, for my cousins, that that ain’t right,” Pérez-Vega said, according to a Star Tribune story. “It’s because of our immigrant community, especially those immigrants who became veterans to fight for our country … [that] we’re going to stand proud to support our immigrant rights.”
Pérez-Vega will also be participating in a St. Paul townhall on Saturday, April 12 to “fight back against the Trump administration’s harmful policies together.”

Maria was one of the most effective speakers at the rally. I was proud to tell my friends who live outside the district that she’s my representative.
