Third Annual K9 Walk: More Dogs

The West St. Paul K9 Foundation is hosting the third annual K9 Walk—now with more dogs.

Why: The event supports the West St. Paul Police Department’s K9 program and minimizes the burden on the police budget.

More dogs: In addition to police K9s Cecil and Bear, the department’s new therapy dog Rocky will join the festivities.

  • When: Sunday, Sept. 21 starting at 9:30 a.m.
  • Where: Thompson Park
  • What: Two-mile walk, brunch buffet, snow cones, bounce house, lawn games, silent auction, raffle, photos with K9s, and more.
  • Sign up: Register online—$45 for individuals, $55 for families.

Proceeds: Money raised will help cover veterinary care, food, training, and equipment for the police dogs.

History: Started last year, the West St. Paul K9 Foundation is a separate nonprofit that supports police dogs.

  • “The foundation starting is to not only make donating easier but to also take the burden off of the police department,” said K9 Officer Nicole Murphy before last year’s K9 Walk.
