2025 Artist in Residence: Tomás Araya

Dakota County Library is hosting a series of art classes with artist in residence Tomás Araya this fall at various libraries.

Purpose: Araya’s motto is: “If you believe it, you create it.” As a teaching artist, he believes this idea empowers creative freedom and helps people grow in healthy ways.

Bio: Araya is a multimedia artist whose work often connects to storytelling, cultural healing, and environmental awareness. Originally from Chile and a native of the Diaguita Nation of the Andes Mountains, Araya has been based in the Twin Cities since 2018. He’s worked on multiple local projects, including a mural at the Science Museum, a sculpture in downtown St. Paul, and many more.

Live Nature Drawing and Painting:

  • Inver Glen: Saturday, Sept. 20, 1–3:30 p.m.
