Little wooden creatures are showing up around West St. Paul. What are they? Where do they come from? Here’s the answer:

Video created by Carolyn Swiszcz.

They’re called Dubs, for ‘W,’ and they’re the creation of local artist Travis Olson.

  • Where: Olson has made more than 80 Dubs and placed them around West St. Paul. “I try to put them in places where curious people might find them,” he said.
  • Creatures: They’re not Olson’s only creation. He makes Wudlanders as well as other mystery creatures.
  • More: Olson is also known for artistic creations in the Explore West St. Paul Days parade, the fairy doors in local parks, and the Little Free Library at the Art Park.
