Level 3: More History

Level 3: More History

We’re in the midst of our Level Up Local News member drive. For every 10 new members, we’ll unlock a new level. The next level is more history.

Local History

We do occasional history stories, and they’re pretty popular. Like yesterday’s McDonald’s Playland story. Or the enclosed mall at Signal Hills, or the evolution of Sibley High School into Heritage Middle School, or the 1965 cross burning in West St. Paul.

For the longtimers, it’s a bit of nostalgia. For the newcomers, it’s fun to see what things used to look like.

But it’s a lot of work finding history in a first-ring suburb. We’re indebted to the Dakota County Historical Society and the many others who have done much of the work. But it’s still a lot of research and legwork to find the stories and get it right. So we need the extra support.
