So what’s happening in West St. Paul? Now there’s a community-wide events calendar to answer that question.

  • What: An events calendar curated by the City of West St. Paul listing all kinds of community events.
  • Where: It’s online at ExploreWSP.com, expanding the website for the city’s annual Explore West St. Paul Days into a hub for year-round events.
  • Why: “We’ve heard from the community that it can be hard to know what things are going on in town,” said Sam Murphy, the city’s recreation and engagement manager. “That’s why we’ve launched a specific one-stop shop to help everyone navigate all the fun events happening.”

Submit an Event

While the calendar is hosted by the city and includes plenty of city events, it’s also open to events from the wider community.

“There are many great events happening around West St. Paul already,” said Murphy. “We hope to see those shared. If your event is open to the public, located in West St. Paul or a neighboring city (like when the event has regional draw), falls within the few guidelines, and is fun and friendly, we hope to see them submitted for inclusion! Events could include trivia night at a local establishment, an open house, a musical production, a senior day trip, or an outdoor experience for examples.”

Synergy

“We need things to rally around—capture momentum, build excitement, get people talking, visiting, and staying,” said Murphy. The events calendar is one way they hope that happens.

The organizers hope bringing events together in one place will raise the bar for future events and encourage residents to find more things to do—even events they otherwise wouldn’t know about.

“We hope to make it easier for people to get involved, know what’s going on, and build connections in the community,” said Murphy.
