Five days of events to celebrate Inver Grove Heights, including a parade, fireworks, food truck festival, glow walk, bike ride, car show, street dance, kids’ market, pet contest, and more.
The events are organized by the nonprofit Inver Grove Heights Days with full details available on their website. Many of the events require a $5 Inver Grove Heights Days button that can be purchases at multiple locations. Buying a button also means you can enter a drawing for gift cards and other prizes. This year’s button was designed by fifth grader Henry from Hilltop Elementary School.
All Week
Treasure Hunt – Starts Tuesday, September 8 at 6 p.m.
A new clue will be posted everyday at 6 p.m. or until the treasure is claimed. $250 cash prize plus $100 Inver Grove Brewing gift card. Button required.
City-Wide Garage Sale – Sept. 10-12
A map of garage sale locations will be posted on the Inver Grove Heights Days site.
Bingo Tent – multiple times at Drkula’s 32 Bowl (6710 Cahill Ave. E.)
Friday 5:30-8:30 p.m., Saturday after wrestling until 7:30 p.m., Sunday 12-3 p.m. Bingo specials throughout the weekend. Button required.
Wednesday, September 9
Hometown Heroes Cookout – 4-6:30 p.m. at Simley High School (2920 80th St.)
Free burgers and hot dogs in a gathering to honor local first responders, frontline workers, educators, and medical personnel.
Thursday, September 10
Coffee With a Cop, County Attorney & County Commissioner – 8:30 a.m. at Inver Glen Library (8098 Blaine Ave. E.)
Join Inver Grove Heights Police Chief Melissa Chiodo, Dakota County Sheriff Joe Leko, Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena, and Dakota County Commissioner Joe Atkins for coffee and Q&A.
Euchre Tournament – 3:45 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Community Center (8055 Barbara Ave.)
Knowledgeable players 18 and up are welcome. Registration fee is $5. Pre-registration is not required.
Food Truck Festival – 4-7 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Community Center (8055 Barbara Ave.)
A bunch of food trucks in the parking lot, including Crush Pizza Truck, D&D Goodies, Don Papi Chulo, Kosharina Egyptian Cuisine, Paulson’s Pronto Pups, PolJam, Rollin’ Nolens BBQ, Taiwanese Sausages, Unbakeable, Santana’s Sugar Shack, and Social Horse Dirty Sodas. There will be some picnic tables available, but bringing your own chair or blanket is encouraged.
Trivia Night – 7 p.m. at Moose Lodge (Concord & Dawn Way)
Regular and local trivia with prizes awarded throughout the evening. Button required.

Volunteers will collect non-perishable food donations along the parade route for Neighbors, Inc.

Pool play to qualify for single elimination tournament. Upper and lower blind draw bracket play (best of three for championship). $40 entry fee per team plus button required, 32 teams maximum, must be 21 to play.
Bike the Bridges – 3 p.m. at Rock Island Swing Bridge (4465 66th St. E.)
Five-mile family bike ride from the Swing Bridge to the Wakota Bridge and back. Participants will receive a free gift, beverage, and snack.

IGH Royalty Coronation – 4:30 p.m. at Simley Performing Arts Center (2920 80th St.)

Explore Inver Grove Heights – 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Cahill Avenue between 65th and 70th Streets
- Business Expo: Local businesses, community groups, and a showcase of new vehicles from local car dealerships.
- Children’s Entrepreneur Market: A hands-on event where kids sell their own creations.
- Annual Classic Car Show: $10 entry fee per car, spectators free.
- Pet Contest: Multiple categories, prizes, located in front of River Heights Dental Care. Button required.
- Kids Court: Face paint, balloon artist, and games.
- Public Safety Display: First responder vehicles, kitchen fire demo, CPR booth, and live safety demonstrations.
- Button Drawing: At 3 p.m., do not need to be present to win.
