Thanks to Cherokee Service for their support.

West St. Paul has a number of holiday events, including a visit from the jolly guy himself.

December 2: Santa’s Holiday Hero Express

Santa Claus is touring West St. Paul with an escort from the West St. Paul Police and South Metro Fire. The merry parade will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 2. You can check out the parade route for specific times and to see if Santa will be passing by your house. If not, you can head to Harmon Park to spot Santa and his entourage.

This year Santa has traded in his sleigh and reindeer for a vintage 1968 Pirsch firetruck decked out for the holidays.

December 5: Secret Holiday Shop

Kids are invited to the Dakota Lodge at Thompson Park on Sunday, December 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. for the Secret Holiday Shop. It’s a chance for kids to buy presents for their family members and keep it secret. Volunteers will be on hand to help kids shop and wrap presents at the end. Items will be priced between 50 cents and $12. Adults can enjoy free coffee while they wait for kids to shop.

There’s also a rumor Santa himself will make an appearance.

The goods will go to A Place of Hope for distribution to families in Dakota and Washington Counties.

If you can’t make it during the event, there will also be a drop off box at city hall. There’s also a Target gift list if you’d like shop online and ship the toys directly to A Place of Hope. You can also make a cash donation through PayPal.
