On Tuesday evening West St. Paul residents noticed a loss in water pressure and sediment in the water. Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) reported having an electrical issue at approximately 6:30 p.m., causing a drop in water pressure at the West St. Paul pump station.
They were able to restore pumping within the hour, though the quick drop in pressure and subsequent increase flushed the water lines, jarring sediment loose. Some people saw discolored water coming out of their faucets. According to SPRWS, the sediments were compounds such as iron, manganese, and others, but drinking the discolored water wouldn’t cause any harmful health effects.
SPRWS flushed the system overnight to remove sediments, though if residents continue to see discolored water they should run their water for about five minutes to remove any remaining sediment.

Why does WSP have only one pump for water pressure, has anyone at SPRWS considered redundancy? Thank god they don’t run an airline.
I live in a condo at Oakdale and Westview dr. Can someone please explain to me why I am still dealing with LOW WATER PRESSURE !?
