We’re saying hello to some of our neighbors, meeting folks who support West St. Paul Reader. Today we’re meeting Jackie Kaelble, a marketing manager who has lived in West St. Paul for about 18 years total after moving away and coming back. She became a member of West St. Paul Reader in February 2023.
West St. Paul Love
What do you love about West St. Paul?
I love that we are so close to everything in the Twin Cities but that West St. Paul still feels like its own community.
What’s your favorite place in West St. Paul? Why?
I love the Dodge Nature Center.
What’s your go-to West St. Paul eatery?
We love Thai Pepper! They have incredible food and are so quick for pickup orders.
What is West St. Paul’s best kept secret?
Honestly, the Dodge Nature Center feels like a secret oasis hidden just a few blocks from my house, it seems like a special place just for us.
What do you wish people knew about West St. Paul?
I wish they knew about more than just Robert Street! We have so many incredible parks and nice neighborhoods.
Why did you move to West St. Paul?
My family moved here when I was in fifth grade, the year the new Heritage Middle School was opened, and I stayed through high school. I moved back about six years ago when I purchased my mom’s house and I’m so happy to be back.

Why did you decide to become a member and support West St. Paul Reader?
Having a small local news source is so refreshing! It is nice to get a look at news that is focused on just our little community.
What do you like most about being a member and supporting West St. Paul Reader?
I feel happy and proud to support independent journalism!

I like the neighbor spotlights, it’s fun to learn more about folks in the community.
