West St. Paul City Council Preview: Nov. 27, 2023

Thanks to our members for making coverage of West St. Paul City Council meetings possible.

West St. Paul City Council has a light agenda for Monday’s meeting, with most discussion happening during the Open Council Work Session (OCWS) surrounding the budget, Delaware trail, and housing improvement.

Items on the Agenda

  • Budget: Council will review the 2024 budget during the OCWS, specifically looking at strategic goals and how they align with the proposed budget. The final budget will be approved in December.
  • Delaware trail: Dakota County will present the proposed trail and pedestrian crossing on Delaware across from Two Rivers High School during the OCWS.
  • Housing: During the OCWS, Council will consider whether to establish a housing improvement area (HIA) and accompanying policy that would facilitate condo and townhouse associations in getting loans to make improvements.
  • Neighbors, Inc.: Dawn Wambeke is the new executive director of Neighbors, Inc. and will give a presentation introducing herself during the OCWS.
  • Performance review: Council will have a closed session for the annual performance review. of City Manager Nate Burkett.

Watch: The public can watch the meeting live on Town Square TV or cable TV starting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday (5:30 p.m. for the OCWS).
