Better change your dinner plans—Hamburguesas El Gordo in West St. Paul closed unexpectedly earlier this month. No word as to why they closed.
- Two other Hamburguesas El Gordo locations in St. Paul and Minneapolis are still open.
- Last year owner Claudia Gutierrez Mendez was charged with tax crimes. There is no indication if that played into the closure.
- The restaurant space is now available for lease.
