Young Optimist of the Year

2025 Young Optimist of the Year: Annika Klemme & Ramona Webb

Thanks to The North 40 Tavern for their support. A north woods tavern somewhere in the middle of a big city. They regularly rotate tap beers, so stop in to see what’s currently flowing.

Last week the Optimist Club of West St. Paul named Two Rivers High School seniors Annika Klemme and Ramona Webb their Young Optimists of the Year for 2025.

Why: They were nominated by ISD 197 School Board Chair Sarah Larsen for their community service and consistent willingness to volunteer.

Pace Automotive: Local, family owned auto repair. Personal, honest service.
  • Larsen’s nomination said in part: “The pair are always eager to say yes, jumping right in and staying for as long as it takes to get the job done. They are genuinely amazing role models for younger students and deserving of this honor.”

New: This is the first time the Optimist Club of West St. Paul recognized young people and the first time they awarded two people the honor.

Bonus: Klemme and Webb were surprised during a meeting as the Optimist Club marched in ringing cowbells and presenting the honorees with balloons and flowers. They also received a plaque, gift cards, and an invitation to ride in the Explore West St. Paul Days parade.
