Thanks to Bisanz Brothers and for their support.
The fifth annual West St. Paul Rider community bike ride featured about 125 people, donuts at the start, and an atmosphere of fun and joy. The family-friendly ride covered 6.2-miles of trails around West St. Paul as part of the annual Explore West St. Paul Days community celebration.
Thanks: The event happened with the help of more than 20 volunteers, West St. Paul Police Reserves, and Dakota County Park Patrol, plus the West St. Paul Reader, Dakota County, and the City of West St. Paul. Several elected officials came out, including Dakota County Commissioner Joe Atkins and West St. Paul Mayor Dave Napier.
Donuts: South Robert Street Business Association donated to support the ride, including donuts, juice, and coffee from Amore. The donuts came from Donut Hut in Little Canada, where the owners are related to the owners of the former West St. Paul staple, Granny Donuts. The recipe is nearly the same, giving longtime West St. Paul residents a taste of Granny Donuts, which closed in 2020.
Support: The free event raised money for the Residents of Color Collective (ROCC), a local organization that empowers marginalized communities of color. (If you weren’t able to donate at the event, you can donate now.)

Bonus: Jeannine Pohl of Block Portrait Studios set up a photo booth and shared photos with all the riders. You can see her full collection of event photos.
Our photographer Adelaide Christensen also captured the event, and here are her photos:
