ISD 197 announced four new inductees into the Warrior Hall of Fame. These are members of the ISD 197 community who have “become a person of distinction from service to country, state, community, or school.”
The 2025 inductees into the Warrior Hall of Fame are:
- Brenda Corbett, Former ISD 197 teacher, coordinator, club advisor and school board member
- Tom Johnson, Sibley Class of 1961
- Tori Nelson, Henry Sibley Class of 2019
- Jim Probst, Henry Sibley Class of 1979
Event: They’ll be recognized at a ceremony during this year’s homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 3.
Selection process: Hall of Fame inductees were nominated by the community and chosen by a selection committee made up of the Two Rivers principal and activities director, plus Two Rivers staff and community members.

Below are details on this year’s inductees:
Brenda Corbett
Brenda’s legacy is one of creativity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to students and education.

- Dedicated her life to education, service, and the power of ideas.
- Multiple roles in the district over the past five decades, including teacher, gifted and talented coordinator, student services coordinator, club advisor, school board member, parent, grandparent, and community member.
- Shaped countless programs, from launching Odyssey of the Mind in the district to leading reading clubs and supporting young leaders.
- Retired from the classroom in 2012.
- Served three terms on the school board.
Tom Johnson
Tom Johnson’s enduring legacy is marked by the thousands of students, athletes, and community members whose lives he’s enriched, many of whom still fondly remember his guidance, humor, and care decades later.

- A standout student-athlete, Johnson captained the football, basketball, and baseball teams, earned the Male Sportsman of the Year Award, and served as president of the Key Club.
- His academic journey continued with degrees from the University of Minnesota and St. Thomas University.
- Spent his entire 34 year-teaching career in ISD 197, serving in multiple elementary schools while also coaching football and basketball.
- His impact extended beyond the classroom through church service, youth coaching, and career mentorship with Best Prep.
- After retiring, Johnson continued giving back by maintaining and enhancing Heritage’s science department’s animal habitat displays, including building the school’s 700-gallon aquarium.
Tori Nelson
Tori Nelson distinguished herself at Henry Sibley High School as a multi-sport athlete and exceptional scholar.

- A five-time basketball MVP and Metro East Conference Player of the Year, she became the school’s all-time leading scorer (2,516 points) and set records in rebounds, blocks, steals, and single-game scoring, while also captaining the team for three years. In softball, she earned four letters, captained as a senior, and was twice named Defensive Player of the Year.
- Academically, Nelson maintained a straight-A average, earned Academic All-State honors, was inducted into the National Honor Society, and received the Athena Award.
- Continuing this trajectory at South Dakota State University, she was a five-year starting basketball player, contributing to multiple championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, earning Freshman of the Year, and joining the 1,000-point club, alongside graduating Summa Cum Laude in exercise science and community and public health and co-founding the nonprofit Her Turn that provides athletic camp scholarships for young girls.
Jim Probst
Jim Probst’s generosity, humility, and heart for service make him a true Warrior.

- As a dedicated Kiwanis member and advisor, Probst has supported the Two Rivers Key Club for more than 10 years—donating prizes, snacks, and supplies out of his own pocket and helping students lead with purpose.
- He played a key role in the school’s transition to the Two Rivers name, securing funding so every student and staff member could receive a t-shirt to mark the occasion.
- Probst has also worked to secure thousands of dollars in scholarships for seniors at Two Rivers and other local high schools through the Kiwanis Club.
- A recipient of the Minnesota-Dakotas Key Club District’s Gold Key and Creativity in Leadership awards, Probst is also the current president of the South Robert Street Business Association.
