Local art boutique Poppy and Wonderments, which just opened in September, is rolling out drop-in art times for kids and painters.

In addition to classes creating gnomes, accordion books, framed moss, and more, Poppy and Wonderments is starting two classes in November to encourage freeform creativity.

Kid Open Art: Every Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. there will be age appropriate craft kits for kids and their grown ups.

  • It’s designed so parents or grandparents can have a fun and easy way to explore creativity with their pre-school kids.
  • No preparation or clean up required. Drop in any time during the open time.
  • Prices for the craft kits range from $5 to $15, making it an affordable option to be creative.

Open Painting: Twice in November, Poppy and Wonderments is offering a self-directed, open painting time.

  • Canvas, paints, and brushes are provided.
  • The open time lasts for three hours and costs $15 per person.
  • It’s an opportunity for artists to create with other artists or for people who don’t normally do art to pick up a brush without dealing with the set up and mess.
