Gebeta Ethiopian Restaurant

Gebeta Ethiopian Restaurant Now Open

Thanks to Eco Chico for their support. When kids constantly outgrow their clothes, turn to Eco Chico—a kid’s resale boutique that’s easy on the planet and the budget.

Gebeta Ethiopian Restaurant is now open in West St. Paul near Smith and Dodd.

Why: “We are short of Ethiopian restaurants here in the Twin Cities,” said owner Zene Jebessa. “Neighbors and friends, they always ask for more Ethiopian food.”

It’s the third Ethiopian restaurant to try this location, with Betty’s Kitchen in 2023 and Yadot Kitffo in 2024. That doesn’t deter Jebessa, who also owns the Abyssinia Mart in Apple Valley.

Pace Automotive: Local, family owned auto repair. Personal, honest service.

This her first restaurant, but she’s confident: “What matters is the food you serve, how you manage it,” said Jebessa. “Then be consistent—that’s what matters in business.”

  • What: Gebeta Ethiopian Restaurant serves traditional Ethiopian food, prepared fresh.
  • When: Gebeta had a soft opening last weekend for friends and family. They’re open every day except Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Where: 1049 Dodd Road in the former dance studio space.
