The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will close Highway 52 again this weekend for more work on a pedestrian bridge just north of Butler Avenue. This will be the third weekend closure in three months.
- When: Highway 52 will be fully closed beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 9, through 5 a.m. on Monday, October 12.
- Closure: Highway 52 will be closed in both directions from Concord to Thompson. The ramps from I-94 and I-494 to Highway 52 also will close along with the ramp from Plato Boulevard/Fillmore Avenue to southbound Highway 52.
- Where: The bridge connects Lewis Street and Stickney Avenue in the far northwest corner of South St. Paul, north of Butler Avenue.
- What: MnDOT is replacing the aging pedestrian bridge as part of their statewide Pedestrian Bridge Improvement Project. This closure will allow construction crews to prepare and paint the new bridge, complete utility work, and make pavement repairs on the highway. The project should be completed by late October.
Highway 52 recently closed for a weekend in August and a Saturday night in September.
