The local Ethiopian restaurant Betty’s Kitchen has undergone a change in ownership. Now co-owned by partners Asamnew Sahle and Haile Asfa, they moved the restaurant in an even more authentic direction and renamed it Yadot Kitffo Ethiopian Bar & Restaurant.

Who: Sahle immigrated to America from Ethiopia five years ago, where he ran a restaurant as well. He has translated a lot of his experience into the management of Yadot Kitffo. “The people are different, but the food is the same,” he said about the new demographic.

What: The restaurant has many unique features, including a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony upon request. For those who have not tried Ethiopian food before, staff are happy to give recommendations. Dishes such as their veggie sampler and their zilzil tibs are popular.

Hours & delivery: Yadot Kitffo is open every day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., save for Saturdays when they open at 1 p.m. and Mondays when they are closed entirely. They are also available for delivery through Grubhub.

Where: 1049 Dodd Road, in the former dance studio space.
