West St. Paul Reader intern Megan Noggle and editor Kevin D. Hendricks.

Say Hello to Our Intern: Megan Noggle

We are proud to announce our first ever internship here at West St. Paul Reader. Megan Noggle, one of our recent contributors and first student writer, is now our first intern.

  • When: Noggle started a 20-week, paid internship in April that will run through August.
  • Who: Noggle has written a dozen stories for us since January 2022. She’s a graduate of Two Rivers High School and will be studying journalism at Concordia College in Moorhead in the fall.
  • What: Noggle will continue to do more writing for us as well as get a broader picture of the work that goes into a news site, including editing, proofreading, story ideas, promotion, events, networking, and more.

“I’m really looking forward to dipping my toes more solidly into the journalism vein itself, especially when it means getting to be involved with my community,” said Noggle. “I’m excited to cultivate my writing and reporting skills as I navigate the different avenues of journalism with the West St. Paul Reader.”

Thanks

We’re able to hire an intern thanks to member support. This literally would not be possible without the support of our members, so a big thank you to them.

One of goals as a neighborhood news site is to give back to our community. Giving opportunities and experience to students is a big way to do that. Many of us got our start thanks to opportunities like this, so we’re thrilled to pass it forward to the next generation.
