Concept plans for Chase

What’s Going in at Robert and Mendota in Front of Cub Foods?

We answer local questions with your support.

There’s construction at the corner of Robert Street and Mendota Road at the south end of West St. Paul—what’s going in?

Plans for the new space including Starbucks and two to-be-determined retail spaces.

As we noted back in February, development is finally moving forward for the outlot parcels in front of Cub Foods, with confirmed businesses of Starbucks and Chase going in so far. There are also two retail spaces next to Starbucks that are not yet confirmed (early reports said Xfinity, but the latest update from the city doesn’t include Xfinity).

Yes, this second stand-alone Starbucks is in addition to the existing one on Thompson and Robert. That one is pretty busy and Starbucks clearly thinks the area can support another location. (And yes, it’s the third Starbucks total if you count the one inside Target.)

Pace Automotive: Local, family owned auto repair. Personal, honest service.

That corner does have more space for additional outlot buildings, so there may be more development to come. The very corner also has some city-owned space reserved for an eventual welcome sign.
