North 40 Tavern Opens in West St. Paul

Local news coverage happens thanks to our generous supporters.

Longtime West St. Paul establishment Marty’s Bar closed earlier this year. But it’s staying local as the owners of nearby bar Tappers bought Marty’s. They reopened it today as North 40 Tavern.

They’ve redone the interior, losing the pool table and refinishing the bar with an immaculate flame finish. There’s a new patio out back (added during the Marty’s era), and they’ve repainted and cleaned up the horseshoe pits.

The owners plan to do more events, including food trucks and craft shows.

That starts on Saturday, September 25 with a 2k Saturday Stroll at the West St. Paul Sports Complex to benefit the Pompe Warrior Foundation and then a fundraiser at North 40 Tavern from 3 to 8 p.m. with raffle tickets, food trucks, and a bags tournament.
