West St. Paul Sports Dome Reopens With New Turf

Thanks to our members for supporting neighborhood news.

The West St. Paul Regional Athletics Center, known as the dome, reopens on August 1 with new turf after a planned update.

Work: The project included removing the old turf, regrading the base surface, installing new artificial turf, hand sewing field lines, and adding rubber infill.

Pace Automotive: Local, family owned auto repair. Personal, honest service.

Cost: The dome’s turf is expected to last eight to 12 years and the city budgeted $1 million for replacement. The actual cost was about $630,000.

Dome history: The West St. Paul Regional Athletics Center first opened in 2012 and offers 110,000 square feet of athletic space. It’s generally open Monday through Friday for walkers and joggers, as well as $5 open dome time, and is otherwise rented for sports groups. Check the website for the latest updates.
