West St. Paul’s annual celebration, Explore West St. Paul Days, kicks off this week. The events, running Thursday, June 5 through Sunday, June 8, are an opportunity to explore West St. Paul.
- New: Look for the medallion hunt, art exhibit, and Pinterest garden party as new events this year.
Explore West St. Paul Days Schedule
Here’s the list of events happening in West St. Paul from June 5-8:
All Days
- Medallion Hunt – Clues will be released twice daily, at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., each day of Explore West St. Paul Days until the medallion is found. The prize is $500 from the South Robert Street Business Association.
- Citywide Garage Sale – Garage sales are happening across the city. See the map to find sales near you.
- Art Exhibition – FoodSmith (973 Smith Avenue S.) is hosting an exhibition of art by local artists, Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday, June 5
- 5:30-7 p.m. – Marthaler Park Grand Reopening – Refreshments, activities, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the latest renovations at Marthaler Park (1625 Humboldt).
- 7 p.m. – Puppet Show – Turbo Tim’s Anything Automotive (815 Dodd Road) is hosting a puppet performance by Open Eye Theater.
Friday, June 6
- 8 a.m.-6 p.m. – Pinterest Patio Garden Party – Southview Garden Center (50 Crusader Avenue E.) is hosting an open house with refreshments and Pinterest-worthy garden projects.
- 6 -10:15 p.m. – Food Trucks, K9 Demo, Concert & Fireworks at the Sports Complex (1650 Oakdale Avenue).
- 6 p.m. – Food Trucks will be available all night.
- 6:15-6:45 p.m. – The West St. Paul Police Department will put on a K9 demo.
- 7-10 p.m. – Performance from the band Free and Easy.
- 10:15 p.m. – Fireworks
Saturday, June 7
- 10:30 a.m. – Parade – See the full parade route along Charlton Street from Runge Lane to Bernard Street.
- 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – West Fest – After the parade come to Harmon Park (230 Bernard Street West) for booths from local organizations and businesses, plus food trucks.
- 2-3 p.m. – Spring Giveaway Event – St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church (1575 Charlton Street) hosts a community garage sale, but everything is free. They’ll also have free hot dogs and ice cream sandwiches.
- 2:30-6:30 p.m. – Explore 1800 Oakdale Avenue – El Destino Market and Clothesline Laundromat (1838/1834 Oakdale Avenue) host a cultural event with performances, food, giveaways and more.
- 3:30-5:30 p.m. – Raddatz Dance Open House – Raddatz Dance Studio (120 Butler Avenue East) hosts an open house with free class, snow cone, and bounce house.
- 6-10 p.m. – Food Trucks & Concert at the Sports Complex (1650 Oakdale Avenue).
- 6 p.m. – Food trucks will be available all night.
- 7-10 p.m. – Performance from the band Ragtown.
Sunday, June 8
- 8:30 a.m. – West St. Paul Rider – A family friendly bike ride starting at Marthaler Park (1625 Humboldt) and riding 6.2 miles around West St. Paul. Includes donuts, juice, and coffee at the start.
- Noon-3 p.m. – Take a Kid Fishing – A free, hands-on fishing event at Thompson County Park (1200 Stassen Drive) with no experience or equipment required. Food trucks will be available.
- 2-5 p.m. – Juneteenth BBQ – The Residents of Color Collective (ROCC) is hosting a Juneteenth BBQ and Resource Fair with free food, games, entertainment, giveaways, and more at the Sports Complex (1650 Oakdale Avenue.
