2016 West St. Paul Days Parade

Thanks to Zak’s Auto ServiceLehner Law Office, and Clothesline Laundromat for their support.

The annual parade is a West St. Paul tradition that takes on many forms. In 2016, the parade was part of Celebrate West St. Paul Days and occurred on May 21. That year the parade ran along Butler Avenue, Smith Avenue, and Annapolis Street.

The parade grand marshals were the family of Mendota Heights Police Officer Scott Patrick, who was killed in the line of duty in 2014 in West St. Paul. Michelle Patrick and her daughters Erin and Amy served as grand marshals.

The parade also included a few notable politicians, including Jenny Halverson, Matt Klein, and Todd Podgorski. In the fall of 2016, Halverson would become the first woman elected as mayor of West St. Paul. Klein had his first run for state senate—this year he’s running for Congress. Podgorski ran against Klein that year and this year he’s running for the same seat.
