Last Friday evening a 64-year-old woman from West St. Paul was crossing Butler Avenue when a driver stuck the pedestrian with his vehicle.
Condition: The pedestrian had a head wound and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Driver: The driver, a 27-year-old male from St. Paul, is the one who called 911 and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
Impairment: Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment, but the pedestrian did. According to police, “the officer could detect a strong odor of alcohol” from the pedestrian.
Where: The pedestrian was crossing Butler near Livingston but not in a crosswalk, according to a preliminary investigation by the police.
Next: The case is still under investigation and no citations have yet been issued.
Trend: Another pedestrian was hit while crossing Robert Street last month.
